Zoo Lights Extend Through February

Zoo Lights | Anchorage, AKThe Alaska Zoo in Anchorage is a bright place to be this winter: Zoo Lights is still running. Every Thursday through Sunday until March 2, the lights will be on, and the fun will continue.

A colorful, lighted parade of animals takes over the zoo each winter. From front to back, the zoo is decorated with animal displays that are clever, colorful, and even animated. This year, new light displays have been added to the mix.

Zoo Lights is great for the whole family: strolling under a canopy of lights to view a creative display of bright animals is a simple and fun way to bring everyone together and get some great pictures.

The event takes place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting February 1.  Tickets are seven dollars per person for non-pass holders, and only five dollars per person for pass holders.

The newly extended Zoo Lights schedule makes a visit to the lighted zoo even more convenient: there is no rush to get there before the event closes for the year. For more information on the event or to purchase Zoo Lights tickets, visit the Alaska Zoo website.

Support from the community keeps the lights on every year, and you won’t regret seeing the smiles that light up the faces of everyone you bring along to the light show.
